If you love the great outdoors, The New Forest is the place for you. Walking, cycling, horse riding, sailing, kayaking / canoeing  and all available, as well as world famous Beaulieu Motor Museum and house and easily accessible from our Brockenhurst base.

Horse Riding

Horse Riding is one of the most popular activities in The Forest, with miles of paths and bridleways to enjoy, and spectacular scenery. There are a number of stables nearby that accommodate both experienced riders, and novices alike.

Trecking & Walking

If walking is your thing you are in for a real treat. Arguably one of the best, and most spectacular areas of the Forest, called Rhinefield Drive is within walking distance of Bridge House.


There are a whole range of designated cycle routes all accessible from Bridge House. Storage facilities are available, and there is Cycle Hire in The village itself.

Local Beaches

If you fancy exploring the coast line there is plenty to choose from all the way  from Milford on sea to Poole only short drive away plus Lymington is easy reach to catch the ferry across to the Isle of Wight

Sailing & Water Sports

Popular sailing and water sports in the New Forest area include canoeing & kayaking on the Beautiful Beaulieu River and also sailing and the nearby sailing port of Lymington with connections to the Isle of Wight

Motor Museum & Bucklers Hard

The Bridge house is ideal place to stay with just a short distance by car or bus to the Motor Muesum at Beaulieu with its 100 year history of the motor car and Beaulieu estate Palace house. While your there why not visit Bucklers Hard, Nelson’s Officers Village and National Maritime Museum which is just down the road.

Events in the New Forest

Throughout the year visitors flock to the areas for a range of events, both large and small. The New Forest Show is the biggest event in the calendar, but some other must see events are the Beaulieu Auto & Boat Jumbles, and one of the biggest sailing events in the world, The Round The Island Race.
